21. Make your shoes waterproof
Protecting your feet is essential if you need to dash outdoors fast. The variety of footwear available to you is reduced, though, if you must go outside when it is raining. The rain is no place for flip-flops or slippers since both will turn filthy quickly. Get a pair of emergency shoes out of duct tape and cardboard instead of grabbing for shoes that will simply make your feet wet. Water won’t get in between your toes and the floor, since duct tape is completely watertight. These shoes may not be appropriate for longer walks, but they are great for dashes to the mailbox or the garbage can on a wet day.
